Central Valley High School Seniors Nic Hinman and Lucas Hansen were presented with an award for excellence in television production at the GSL Scholar Athlete awards banquet. Nicolas Hinman, son of Clint and JoLee Hinman, is a senior at Central Valley High School. He has been involved in This Week in High School Sport since its start. He has been a writer, cameraman, host, and has recently taken over as director of the taping of each show you see every Thursday night. Nic plans to attend Spokane Falls Community College in media production and then Eastern Washington University where he plans to pursue directing. Nic was also involved in the team that received top honors with the National Association of Broadcasters during the Small Market Exchange held in Phoenix, AZ, and was voted in the top 4 of all entries. Lucas Hansen, son of Mike and Coleen Hansen, a senior at Central Valley High School, is the main guy that gets things done for This Week in High School Sports and has added a great deal to story development, editing, and creative design. Lucas’s video team placed 1st overall at the Skills/USA regional video contest in 2015. Lucas’s video segments for This Week in High School Sports productions put professionalism into the only student run primetime television show in the country. Lucas has GPA of 3.30 and plans to attend North Idaho College’s design program where he will receive a broad degree in graphics & web design, video/media, app development, and audio.
